For
some, committing to home
fitness is simply easier than committing to a gym. Here
are some of the top reasons when people are choosing home fitness
over gym fitness:
• Convenience
• No commute
• No lines to use the machine
• Although home fitness costs more than a gym membership at
first, in the long run it is a better investment.
• Since home fitness is in the comfort of your own home, you
do not have to worry about making yourself look cute or presentable.
You can workout in clothing with holes… you do not even need
to brush your hair!
• You do not have to shower and dress in front of a bunch of
strangers!
• You do not have to see all of those other people with their
great figures – you can instead concentrate on improving your
own health.
• You can exercise at any time you want to!
If you decide to buy home fitness equipment, there are some things
that you should consider:
• Start out with a good cardio machine. Treadmills are very
popular. On days you do not feel like jogging, you can walk. Elliptical
machines, though, are also great, and they are much lower impact that
treadmills. If you do not know what you want, consider getting a day
pass to a gym and trying everything out. Most home fitness stores
will also allow you to try out their equipment.
• To save money and space, opt for free weights instead of weight
machines.
• Before buying anything, consider how much space you have in
your home. If you do not have very much space, you may want to buy
a fold-away treadmill. If you do have a lot of room to work with,
considering getting a home gym, too.
• Decide where you want to place your home fitness equipment.
The placement of your equipment can actually determine how often you
will work out on it. Many people place their fitness equipment in
the basement, but basements can be dark, dank, and depressing. Instead,
consider putting your treadmill or rowing machine, etc. in front of
a window.
• To keep workouts more interesting, keep your home fitness
equipment in front of a window (as mentioned above) and/or a television.
Just turn on the subtitles of your television – sometimes workout
machines are loud, and you have to turn the TV volume up too high
to counteract that noise.
• Choose a well-ventilated area – again, a window (one
that opens) is good. A fan is also good.
