Fitness Equipment: The cost of gym
memberships (and the gasoline it takes to get yourself there) are
on the rise, and while the initial cost of home workout machines may
be higher than a gym membership, you will save money in the long run
by purchasing your own home gym machines. You will also save valuable
time by working out at on fitness equipment at home. When the exercise
equipment is right in front of you, in your living room
or bedroom or exercise room, it becomes the motivation.
Getting in and staying in shape is important for both
your body and mind. It helps you feel better, look better and live
better.
Because working out – whether on an elliptical
trainer in a home gym or out playing soccer – is important for
health reasons, it is important to the government. More specifically,
the health of Americans is important to the Department of Health and
Human Services and The President’s Council on Physical Fitness
and Sports.
Anyone from age 6 on up can join in the President’s
Challenge, a program created by the President’s Council
on Physical Fitness and Sports. A variety of activities can be completed
to count toward achieving a presidential Active Lifestyle Award
or a Presidential Champions Award. Activities as varied as baton
twirling to household tasks to sledding to using cardio machines
and other fitness equipment can be added together in an effort to
win this health lifestyle challenge.
It does not matter what shape you are in right now.
What matters is that you start working out – get on your fitness
equipment, go on a walk, play Frisbee or rugby and get active!
